6th July 2011 Windsurfing: Cooden Wind Direction: Sw Wind Stength: 20 mph and dropping Surf / Sea State: Pretty flat but some waves sha Air Temperature: Ok Sea Temperature: Warm Weather: Sunny and tail end of a windy afternoon Max Speed: Distance Covered: Got to beach at 6 having seen it blowing all afternoon while stuck at work. Rigged the new 5.7m XO Shark on the 3X96 in single fin mode with the 26cm BPF Wave fin and headed out optimistically, got some planing runs in but had to concede that wind was dropping. Board felt lively in single fin mode, and sail felt nice too :) Shame the wind eased off :( Switched board for the 10'5 and stuck a 24cm BPF Wave fin in the middle slot and went out to play for a couple of hours in the dying wind. Nice to get out and also to try new sail out, shame wind eased off but getting used to that being the case .... Maybe should have just rigged bigger from outset and gone with the slalom board but good fun nonetheless :) |
